Five day on-campus workshop at Maine Media Workshops + College in Rockport, ME
Reveal and expand the visual narrative possibilities for your short story, children’s book manuscript, poetry, personal essay, one-act play and more by spending an immersive week in Rockport, Maine. We’ll explore and make storytelling forms like the crankie (the earliest ‘moving picture’), mind-mapping and storyboarding techniques for illustrators and non-illustrators alike, and how to assemble a compelling ‘dummy book’ for publishing submission or strengthen a book project for self-publishing or editioning as an artist’s book.
All storytellers are welcome; this is a great class for educators to learn the process of refining a story. Come with a story in mind or in some written form, or an idea in search of a visual narrative form. We will bring it to life!
