Wild I is part of a series of experimental monotypes I made in the spring and summer of 2023 for The Painterly Print, an exhibition at the gallery at Thornton Oaks in Brunswick, ME. The exhibition was inspired by Marcia Sewall, and co-curated with Debra Arter. For Wild I, I brought my plexi plate and intaglio inks out into the landscape and worked directly from observation, later embellishing with green colored pencil. This is the wild field where Skylar and Haystack love to romp.
